Will Steph Curry’s Injury Derail The Warriors Title Chances?

Hopefully, Curry returns soon.

The Golden State Warriors won a very close matchup on Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors, but it comes at a possible severe cost as their franchise player, Steph Curry, suffered a scary injury.

The star point guard exited the game with a pelvic injury after a horrible fall while he was trying to attack the basket. To that point, he had played 25 minutes and recorded 17 points while shooting 6-8 from the field.

“He hit that ground hard. You could hear it. It was crazy. Obviously, it was a scary moment for us, for him. Hopefully he’s good,” said longtime teammate, Draymond Green.

An MRI showed Curry suffered a pelvic contusion but there was no structural damage and he will be re-evaluated on Monday. That news came as a relief to teammates, the franchise and its fans.

But without Curry, the Warriors lost to the Hawks on Saturday and are now only .5 games ahead of the Clippers in the sixth spot in the Western Conference. At 41-30, it’s crucial that the Warriors continue to win while Curry is out to avoid the play-in games.

So far Golden State has dodged a major injury to their superstar, but the question is will it be a lingering issue for the team as it prepares for the postseason.
