Warriors Forward Jimmy Butler Suffers Torn ACL

Butler will be out for the season.

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL in Monday night’s 135-112 victory over the Miami Heat and will be sidelined Butler for the remainder of the season.

Butler suffered the injury around the seven minute mark in the third quarter after colliding with Heat guard Davion Mitchell inside the paint, after which Butler laid on the court, screaming in pain.

This injury comes just as the Warriors were finding their groove, winning 12 of their last 16 games and sitting at 25-19.

This season, Butler was averaging 20.0 ppg, 4.9 apg and 5.6 rpg. He was also durable, playing in all but 6 games of the 44 games this season.

With the West being loaded, Butlers ability to guard multiple positions while still being able to score is a big loss for Golden State, and the team might have to look for help before the trading deadline in two weeks on February 5th.

But they will have to move fast if they want to compete this year.
