Trouble Brewing In Baltimore For The Ravens

Baltimore's season comes to another frustrating end.

After falling short to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Sunday Night Football nail biter, the Baltimore Ravens season has come to an end.

This closes the book on a season in which the Ravens finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Coming into the season, the Ravens had championship expectations but after much inconsistency during the year, the 2025 season came to a frustrating end with many questions surrounding the team and the individuals associated with the organization.

One of those questions was answered earlier in the week when the team fired longtime coach, John Harbaugh, who had led the Ravens for 18 seasons, the second longest active tenure with one team (Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh, 19 years).

Although the Ravens were competitive throughout the season, the missed opportunities, defensive shortcomings, and roster inconsistencies played a major role in why Baltimore is not in the playoffs.

When looking into the defense of the Ravens this year, many individuals have their eyes set on this as to why the team fell short of competing for a super bowl.

Through 18 weeks of the season in terms of passing defense Baltimore ranked 30th of 32 teams.

They also struggled to attack the quarterback as they also ranked 30th in sacks.

A franchise that for many years prided and identified themselves through defense find themselves at the bottom of many major statistics.

After missing the playoffs in a year with the AFC “wide open” much noise is being made in Baltimore that inevitably will cause for changes in Baltimore.

As the NFL remains pass happy and explosive, the Ravens are in desperate need for pass rushers and cornerbacks.

Now that their offseason has begun, they must direct their energy into first finding a new head coach and then filling the holes in the team, especially defensively.

Over the past few seasons, the team was expected to compete for the Super Bowl, yet it failed to reach the game. Not only have they fallen short but as the years go on they find ways to lose in worse fashion.

Now the time is to find a coach who can right the ship and rekindle the franchise’s championships aspirations.
