OKC Thunder Take Game 4 Over Pacers With Furious 4Q Rally

OKC heads home after tying the series at 2-2.

Things looked bleak for the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

But then came the 4Q.

Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 35 points, the Thunder put on a furious rally in the final period to beat the Pacers 111-104 and even up the series at 2-2.

The Thunder’s star player answered the call when his team needed him most by delivering 15 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter.

He also scored 11 of the team’s final 12 points in the 4Q, helping to seal the Thunder’s come-from-behind win.

The Thunder also got big contributions from Jalen Williams (27 points), Alex Caruso, who scored 20 points off the bench, and Chet Holmgren, who recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Despite trailing for a good portion of the game, OKC relied on their defensive identity late in the game and locked down the Pacers, holding them to only 6 points in the last 5 minutes of the game.

The Pacers were led by Pascal Siakam (20 points), Tyrese Haliburton (18) and Obi Toppin (17), but the team failed to scores baskets in the final few minutes of the game.

“This kind of a challenge is going to have extreme highs and extreme lows,” said Pacers coach Rick Carlisle. “This is a low right now and we’re going to have to bounce back from it.”

The series is now tied at 2-2 and heads back to Oklahoma City for Game 5, which is a plus for the Thunder as they retain the home court advantage.
