Paige Bueckers Shines Bright As She Wins Rookie Of The Year

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers punctuated her amazing WNBA rookie season by winning the Rookie of the Year in a landslide vote, taking 70 of the 72 first place votes for the award.

In her first season in the WNBA, Bueckers averaged 19.2 ppg, 5.4 asp, and 3.9 rpg while shooting 47.7% from the field and 33.1% from the three-point line. 

She also led all WNBA rookies in total points (692), assists per game, total assists (194), and points per game. 

Buecker’s biggest moment was her WNBA rookie record-setting 44 point performance. Memorable moments like this one is the reason many believe that she will be very special in the league for many years to come.

While Bueckers had an amazing individual season, Dallas went 10-34 and was tied with the Sky for the worst record in the WNBA.

The Wings will have a high pick in the lottery again next season, but many can see this as a positive as they have the opportunity to put more talent around their rising star.
