Myles Garrett Officially Requests A Trade From Cleveland

Will the Browns comply?

Big news out of Cleveland today as 6x Pro Bowler Myles Garrett officially requested a trade from the Browns.

Garrett, a 4x All-Pro with the team, is one of the best defenders in the league and the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. But over his eight years with the team, the Browns haven’t had much success in winning on the field.

In his rookie season, the team went 0-16 and the Browns have only had two winning seasons during Garrett’s tenure with the team (2020, 11-5; 2023, 11-6).

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent,” wrote Garrett in a statement. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.

“With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

Browns’ GM Andrew Berry has said he has no plans to trade Garrett, but that could change based on the offer.

Should he get a few number one picks, or a combination of high draft picks and players, Berry might change his tune.

And with Deshawn Watson’s status up in the air, the Browns might need all the help they can get.
