The Indiana Pacers kept their championship hopes alive as they blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder, 108-91.
The series is now tied 3-3 and will need a game 7 to determine the winner. It’s the first Game 7 of the NBA Finals since 2016.
As usual, Indiana got contributions from many players with six scoring in double figures.
One of the most impactful players was Tyrese Haliburton, who, despite a nagging calf injury, put in a productive 23 minutes and helped facilitate the blowout win.
Haliburton scored 14 points and dished out 5 assists in a limited time. He was joined by Obi Toppin, who added 20 points off the bench, Pascal Siakam (16), and Andrew Nembhard (17).
Even though the Pacers received great contributions offensively, it was their defense that made the difference.
The Pacers forced 21 turnovers and only committed 11. In addition, they won the rebound battle (46 to 41) and shot better from the three-point line (35.7% vs 26.7%).
Game 7 is Sunday night.
It’s the final game of the season and the stage is set for an amazing end for one team.
Either Indiana shocks the world and wins it all or OKC proves their regular season win crown was no fluke. Either way, one team will win its first NBA title in franchise history.
We’ll all see what happens Sunday night in Oklahoma City.
