Pacers Knock off Knicks, Advance To The NBA Finals

So will the Pacers now shock the Thunder?

On Sunday, the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 125-108, ending the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 6.

Indiana was led by Pascal Siakam, who went off for 31 points on 10-18 shooting. His performance, which included scoring 30 points in three of their four wins, earned him Eastern Conference MVP.

Tyrese Haliburton, New York’s newest villain, scored 21 points and dished out 13 assists in the series clinching game.

The Pacers will now face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals, which will be an interesting matchup as both franchises seek their first championship.

Indiana made their first and only NBA Finals appearance in 2000, while the Thunder last made the Finals in 2012 so this will be the second appearance for both franchises.

Despite coming into the Finals on a hot streak, the Pacers, as has been the case during this year’s playoffs, are viewed as the underdog in this series.

While the Thunder had the best record in the NBA this season and are viewed as havibg the better all-around team, the Pacers have beaten the best in the East through fearless play and will look to add the Thunder to its list of opponents its beaten enroute to winning its first NBA title.
