Derrick Henry, Baltimore Agree On Two-Year, $30 Million Deal

Henry returns to the Ravens with a new deal.

Derrick Henry, the star running back for the Baltimore Ravens, re-upped with the team this week through a 2-year, $30 million contract extension.

After rushing for 1,921 yards and 18 total TDs in his first season with the team, Baltimore rewarded King Henry with the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30.

Henry’s new deal proves the value of running backs, a position that has taken a back seat to receivers in recent years. But after amazing performances by Henry and the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley this past season, focus has been put back on the backfield as teams are re-discovering the importance of a strong running game.

Now that Henry’s place on the Ravens has been solidified monetarily, Baltimore can turn its attention to capturing the AFC North again and finally make it back to the Super Bowl, which they failed to do last season.

While they still have holes to fill, the backfield is not one of them as Derrick Henry will be starting there once again in 2025.
