In a thrilling matchup against the Denver Nuggets, the Golden State Warriors squeezed by with a 136-131 win.
The warriors were led by their super star Steph Curry, who erupted for 42 points on 14-25 shooting from the field.
At one point Curry scored 16 straight points for his Warriors to win.
The Warriors needed every point from Curry as the Nuggets received a career high 50 points from Aaron Gordon and another triple-double from Jokic with 21 points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds.
Despite the best efforts of Gordon, Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets, Curry hit the game-tying three just moments before the end of regulation, sending the game into overtime, where they never looked back after going on a 12-2 run to put the game away.
Gordon’s career night enabled him to tie Terry Rozier for most three pointers in a season opener with 10. He also broke Alex English’s franchise record of 47 points in a season opener matchup.
