Wide receiver Amari Cooper has notified the Las Vegas Raiders that he is retiring from the NFL after 10 seasons.
Cooper ended his career with a very impressive resume. He was a five-time Pro Bowl player with 711 receptions, 10,033 receiving yards and 64 touchdowns.
Coming out of Alabama, he was one of the most highly regarded prospects in college football, which is why the Raiders selected him 4th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.
He paid immediate dividends for the team, posting back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons in his fist two years and would end up with 225 catches 3,183 yards and 19 touchdowns with the Raiders.
Cooper’s retirement leaves the team with holes at the receiver spot as the team now only has Tre Tucker, Jakobi Myers, and a few rookie receivers.
