Over the weekend we saw many rookie quarterbacks perform very well in their NFL debut in the preseason.
In the first set of games the quarterbacks that stood out the most were Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders.
Both young quarterbacks displayed many useful traits and put on a performance that could land them the starting job.
In his preseason debut for the Giants, Dart went 12-for-19 for 154 yards passing and 1TD. He displayed good poise in the pocket and great athleticism and decision making in his first game.
Dart also rushed for 24 yards on just 3 carries showing that he has mobility and the ability to escape the pocket.
Looking at Shedeur Sanders, he shook off a shaky start to put forth a solid outing in his preseason debut as well, helping to lead the Browns to a victory over the Panthers.
Sanders finished his first half run 14-23 for 138 yards passing and 2 TDs.
It was a great start for Sanders, who is battling three other QBs for the starting job in Cleveland.
Dart and Sanders shined the most out of the rookie QB class, but others like the Seahawks’ Jalen Milroe, number one overall pick Cam Ward of the Titans and the Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy, whose rookie season last year was lost to an early injury, all performed well for their respective teams.
