The wrestling community is in shock and mourning as legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan passed away.
Millions of “Hulkamaniacs” followed and loved the superstar over his 40+ years in the sport and he was, arguably, the most important cornerstone in the growth of wrestling.
Known to all as Hulk Hogan, his real name was Terry Bollea. He began his professional wrestling career in 1977 but would gain his worldwide popularity when he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and defeated the Iron Sheik in 1984 to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Hogan was the first wrestler ever to win consecutive royal rumble matches as he would win in 1990 and 1991.
In his main event against Andre the giant in 1988 on NBC, he set television records for wrestling with 33 million viewers.
Not only was Hulk Hogan an amazing wrestler but he was someone who helped globalize the sport, pushing it further than many ever imagined.
Hogan was 71 years old.
