Manny Machado Joins The 2,000 Career Hits Club

Machado is building a possible HOF career.

San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado cemented his name in history as cracked the 2,000 career hits marker.

Machado is just the 297th player to hit this milestone in MLB history and one of five active players to achieve the milestone.

He is also the 12th player to hit 350 home runs and 2,000 career hits by age 32.

“Doing it in front of the home crowd definitely is a lot better, and hopefully there’s more,” said a happy Machado.

Machado is 33 years old and is still producing at a high level for the Padres. He is also viewed as a leader and valuable piece to the organization.

After etching his name in the history books, Machado is on a hall of fame type trajectory as long as he can remain a factor for a little bit longer.

He currently has an 11-year, $350 million contract extension that will extend him through 2033 with a no trade clause.

Machado has a great opportunity to continuing playing for many more years while also building a resume that might land him in Cooperstown.
