Spurs Land Dylan Harper With No.2 Pick In NBA Draft

The Spurs land a star in the 2025 NBA Draft.

On Wednesday night, the San Antonio Spurs gave fans lots to cheer about when they drafted Rutgers star Dylan Harper with the second overall pick in the 2025 draft.

The selection made the promising young star very happy.

“They got a great young core over there. I’m just ready to get in there and make an impact anywhere I can with those guys,” said Harper.

Adding a young, electric player like Dylan Harper is a great fit for the Spurs. They currently have rising star Victor Wembanyama and drafted Stephon Castle last season.

Both players won Rookie of the Year in their prospective years, so the team is hoping that Harper will make it three straight.

Harper will join star guard De’Aaron Fox, who was acquired by the team last season in a three-team trade with the Kings and Bulls.

Adding Harper, who was a New Jersey homegrown talent, starring at both Don Bosco Prep and Rutgers University, may be the final piece to solidify the backcourt for this young Spurs team.

Harper has amazing finishing skills around the rim, polished handles, and a unique playmaking ability that will fit very well with his new team.

At 6’6, he has the size and wingspan to defend guards on the perimeter, and defense is something the Spurs pride themselves on.

San Antonio comes out of the draft as one of the biggest winners and fans can’t wait to see the team this fall.
