After serval months of negotiations and several attempts to ban it, the Tush Push will live on thanks to two votes.
The play was created and used predominantly by the Philadelphia Eagles in goal line or short-yardage situations, and it’s produced great success for the Super Bowl champs.
Some, like the Buffalo Bills, have adopted the play and had success. But others have tried unsuccessfully to duplicate it.
In a recent vote by team owners, ten teams voted against banning the controversial play. But they were outvoted by the Eagles, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, Browns, Lions, Jaguars, Saints, Dolphins, and Titans.
The Green Bay Packers had originally tried to ban the play but came up short in the effort as the motion received 22 of the 24 necessary votes.
