Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves Shining In Crunch Time

Minnesota is hot heading into the playoffs.

With only three games remaining in the regular season, the Minnesota Timberwolves, led by Anthony Edwards, have put their foot on the gas and are racing toward a playoff spot.

On Thursday, they blew out the Memphis Grizzlies 141-125 as Edwards went off for 44 points while shooting 13-19 from the field and 7-11 from the three-point line. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

On Friday night, the team won its second game in a row by beating the Nets, 117-91, this time led by Rudy Gobert’s 35 points and 11 rebounds.

The Timberwolves are now tied for 6th place in the Western Conference with the Golden State Warriors and are a game back from 5th place which is being held by the Nuggets and Clippers.

Aside from the Thunder and Rockets, who have secured the top two positions, respectively, in the Western Conference, the rest of the field is close as the Lakers, Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, Timberwolves and Grizzles are battling for playoff positioning.

With only one game remaining on Sunday, all of the aforementioned teams can’t afford to sit back.

The Timberwolves play the 17-64 Jazz, so they should win their third straight game to end the season. But they will need help from other teams to beat those above them.

If the Timberwolves manage to wrest the 6th seed away from the Warriors, they will most likely face the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.

Sunday is a big day for all, so Edwards and his Timberwolves teammates can’t afford to take their foot off the gas.
