Phoenix’s Bad Season Continues As Kevin Durant Injures Ankle

An ugly season just got uglier.

The only team whose season has gone downhill faster than the Phoenix Suns is the Dallas Mavericks, but the Suns made up some ground on the massively injured Mavs Sunday night when superstar Kevin Durant went out with an ankle injury.

Durant sprained his left ankle during the third quarter of the team’s game against the Rockets, which, to make matters even worse, they lost 148-109.

The 15x All-Star is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday and might miss the team’s three-game road trip against the Bucks, Celtics and Knicks.

This season, KD is averaging 26.8 ppg but the Suns are 35-40 and in 11th place as of Monday morning. As the team fights to secure a playoff spot, the loss of KD for any amount of time could severely hamper their chances of making the postseason.
