LeBron James Becomes Oldest And Youngest To Score 40 Points

James adds another record.

LeBron James continues to add his name to the history books, now becoming both the youngest and oldest player in NBA history to score 40 points.

On Thursday night, LeBron scored 42 points in a win over the Warriors. That made him the older player in league history to score 40 points.

Before the record-setting achievement, Michael Jordan was the oldest player to score 40 when he scored 43 points in 2003 against the Nets. He was 40 years old and 3 days at the time.

LeBron eclipsed the mark by being 40 and 38 days in Thursday night’s milestone performance.

James also holds the mark for being the youngest player to score 40 points. Back in 2004, as a 19-year-old rookie, James dropped 41 points, also on the Nets.

LeBron continues to add to the record books regardless of his age.
