Saquon Barkley Should Be A Bigger Part Of The MVP Convo

Barkley rushed the Eagles to the Super Bowl.

Despite being snubbed for MVP in a conversation that ultimately ended up involving two quarterbacks, star running back Saquon Barkley should win AP
Offensive Player of the Year.

The finalists for each major award have been shown. Barkley is in competition with the Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow, and the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

Although there are some great names in competition for this same award, Barkley sits
at the top of the list and has the best odds at bringing home the OPOY award. In just 17 games with the Eagles, he ran for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards a carry during the regular season.

That gave him the rushing crown of Henry.

Other finalists had great seasons as well, including receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who became the sixth receiver in NFL history to win the Triple Crown by leading the league in receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs. Henry, in his first season with the Ravens, rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 TDs.

Even with those players having amazing seasons, what Barkley has done and
continues to do will make him stand out.

Even more importantly, he is the primary reason why the Eagles are in the Super Bowl.
