San Antonio Cruises Past Portland To Reach Conference Semis

The Spurs look championship ready.

The San Antonio Spurs have officially arrived to the party and the rest of the league is on notice.

Behind the otherworldly talent of Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio knocked off the Portland Trail Blazers in their first round matchup in just five games. 

Wemby was the center piece to the Spurs, stuffing the stat sheet in all categories including points, rebounds, assists, and blocks.

Portland struggled to find an answer for Wemby as his length and versatility posed real problems for the Blazers offense all series long. 

But the Spurs were far from a one-man show for De’Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Dylan Harper, and other stepped up in the 4-1 series win. 

The series proved that while Wemby is their superstar, the Spurs are much more than one player. 

Some might question whether San Antonio is championship ready after essentially cruising in their first-round matchup. The answer to that is they’re very ready. 

This team has the ability to win it all. They have the offensive and defensive talent to compete with anyone in the playoffs.  

Now they await the winner of the Nuggets vs Timberwolves series.
