Broncos Defeat Commanders In A Thrilling Overtime Battle

Denver escapes with a thrilling, last second play.

In an epic showdown on Sunday night football the Denver Broncos edged by the Washington Commanders with a win 27-26 in overtime.

This is the ninth straight win for Denver as they sit on top of the AFC at 10-2 alongside the New England Patriots.

This wild game came down to the final moment of the game as the Commanders, led by Marucs Mariota gave the Broncos a surprising scare.

After moving the ball down the field and throwing a late touchdown to Terry McLaurin to bring the Commanders within an extra point of tying the game, the Commanders decided to go for 2 to win the game.

Mariota dropped back and had a wide open Jeremy McNichols out of the backfield, but edge rusher Nik Bonitto ran in, jumped up and swatted down Mariota’s pass to end the game in a thrilling moment for all watching.

The win cements the Broncos as one of the NFL’s best, and although they play the lowly Raiders next, Denver has a tough road to end the season with games against the Packers, Jaguars, Chiefs and Chargers.
