In a shocking trade, the Jets traded star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts.
New York sends the shutdown corner to Indy in exchange for first round draft picks in 2026 and 2027 and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.
For the Colts, this not only makes them a much better team, but also signals that they are all in, strengthening a team that was already 7-2 and ranked as one of the best in the AFC and the league.
The trade also pairs the 2x All-Pro corner with Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Charvarius Ward.
For the Jets, this trade, and the trade of defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith, signals that they’re stocking up for the future.
The Jets currently sit at 1-7, last in the AFC East.
